First Generation

Parents place a phone call to the school’s administrative staff, or staff place a phone call to the home. The school staff maintains attendance details manually.

Second Generation

Interactive Voice Response systems allow incoming phone calls to the school to be routed to an automated attendance tracking system. Broadcast messaging systems at the school place calls to parents. This is an effective system, but requires additional and expensive T-1 or other digital transmission lines.

Third Generation

By replacing the digital transmission lines with an internet-based solution that uses interconnected Voice-over-IP technology, schools can achieve the efficiencies of automated systems at a lower cost. This is the ShoutPoint for Schools communications package, custom-built for the specialized needs of K-12 schools. The ShoutPoint for Schools system consists of up to four of the following modules:
